As you know, the Federation Show was hosted by WAMS this year... a first for our club and it was a resounding success. Thanks goes to so many people for stepping up to do a lot of work to make it happen. Without the efforts of dozens of people, equally deserving of the Outstanding Member award this time around, it would not have been the success it was. We all know how this started a couple of years ago, after numerous years of the Federation executives requesting we take our turn to host the big show. Janice volunteered to direct the show and many others agreed to chair committees. It took 2 years of planning and follow through and included some efforts by people to pick up slack when others couldn&Mac226;t complete their tasks.

One great example was Ray Plummer, who not only did a fantastic job with his elected duties of vice-president and membership chair, but did a ton of work for the Albany show, from making the database, nametags, maps, and handling an awful lot of details at the show itself. Then he took over the management of getting the display cases finished and arranging work parties for all the tasks to get done. He just went way beyond the call of duty this year!

Throughout the time, Janice and Joe stuck to their commitments and by the end of it all not only did they complete the task, but they inspired the rest of us, and together we set the bar for the annual Federation Show at a record height. Good luck Longview!

So for directing the Federation Show & managing the facilities and security. And... newsletter article submissions, consistently educational and entertaining show and tell specimens, providing a lecture on competitive displays, and help in so many other areas, I present the Outstanding Member of the Year award, as voted on by the membership

Janice & Joe Van Cura

Congratulations one and all!
